WOW… from the 108-Day VAH to the 108-day VAL in two RTH sessions!

Once every two weeks or so, we get a “vomit” down day. 

The key is FOLLOW YOUR RULES on outlier days like this.

I warned in Today’s AM Briefing & Tuesday’s Battle Plan that the risk of a liquidation break was high. We got it finally. 

One Tuesday, I further wrote….

Risk of a Liquidation Break is High

It says, “rapid range expansion.”  

We got that today!

So… what is a liquidation break? Look at today’s chart as Exhibit A. 

During the AM Briefing at the 7:25 mark, I outlined what that might look like. See the image below.

PLEASE READ: One can never predict EXACTLY WHEN this will happen. 

Trying to short FOR THAT MOVE is fruitless. 

💡 It’s every trader’s dream to catch it…  and they’ll go short 50 times trying. They still won’t be in it – they just won’t. And if they are? Most exit WAY too early because their previous shorts already wrecked their psychology.

On that drop, for those short, we discussed moving your stop just above each Strong Level as we take it out. Follow that stop aggressively… especially after the 5th Strong Level!

As a group, we discussed ONE possible trade location one could have shorted. Daron made a 90-pointer from that exact trade location – congrats Daron. He is taking a 3-day weekend – well earned! 

Andrew captured 20 from the same location.

So price started vomiting… AKA a liquidation break. 

I let it drop and waited for Battle Plan (1️⃣).

Battle Plan (1️⃣) 

Battle Plan (1️⃣) offered NOTHING – zero ladder backs. 

The liquidation break was already underway. 

So, what do you do? Stand down, traders. 

ES loves to vomit for 1.5 to 3 hours… that’s pretty consistent. And ES loves to traverse 5-7 Strong Levels. 

I kept saying over the microphone, “Do not knife catch this. No first ladders. Let it go. Stand down. If you are short, move your stop just above Strong Levels as we lose them.”

No ladder = No entry. Pretty simple. 

If you enter early, understand the risks. Know where you are wrong and take the “L” like a professional trader. Once again, follow your rules! 

NOTE: Always pay attention to the location of the Trade Idea NUMBER. That is the safest location to enter. Don’t understand, read this. See the chart below – not where 1️⃣ is located – just above that Strong Range . 

Battle Plan (1️⃣), offered nothing. 

So… my eyeballs moved to Battle Plan (3️⃣), my preferred trade idea. 

We made it to the area of interest (Green Box in the chart below) for a possible entry per Battle Plan (3️⃣). 

I wanted price to drop inside this green box and ladder back out!

 A couple of us took the 6872 Long – the apex of the trade idea. I noted on the way down to NOT knife catch BUT if one was to knife catch, this is the 6872 level. 

Does that mean we will turn around and run 100 points??? Heck no – but it could! 

6872 did bounce. 

It bounced 18 points. I captured 10 of them. 

We continued to ladder down nearing the 108-Day VAL. Certainly the EDGE of the 108-Day range per Volume Profile.

Note: We just bounced off the 108-Day VAH on Tuesday for a wicked 80 point move south… as discussed in the Wednesday’s Battle Plan. 

Best MES Micros Long Set Up

Why was Battle. Plan (3️⃣) my preferred trade. Well, we needed a pull back something desperate and the risk of a liquidation break was high – as noted all this week. 

The Trade idea was 90+ points away. It was the edge of a range, from my personal estimation. 

Battle Plan (3️⃣) was exactly where I thought the bulls would come alive! So, I made it my preferred trade. 

We stayed in the green box for 3+ hours – this appears to be a very important level and ES looks like it agreed with me. 

POC moved down into the green box fairly quickly… perhaps lots of volume from traders accumulating longs? Perhaps. Price will tell us for sure.

We got one QUICK 15-point candle south and a snappy ladder back sequence. I got long at 6871.50 and held stop at break-even. I was already up 10 points for the day PLUS I love the trade location! 

Green day ensured. Paid-for lottery ticket in hand. 

In the final 30 minutes, price got my lottery ticket long. At one point, the trade was up 25 points. I treated it as a paid-for lottery ticket. Oh well. Tomorrow it is. 

At the close, we made it down to the Battle Plan (4️⃣) zone. I took the 55 long.

One might have looked at yesterday’s Battle Plan and thought, “Those are a long way away. No way we get there!” And here we are!

NOTE: Trader who waited for a SECOND LADDER LONG might have gotten one entry for a 20-point run. The trader who waited for the outlined entry locations per the mapped in the Battle Plan ideas took zero entries. 

Flat is a position too!

Keep that powder dry!

Very profitable discussion on Zoom, as we do not get moves like this every day!

Not all profitable discussion leads to points earned…. today. 

Patience in real-time. 

One can talk patience, but when it is LIVE before traders, it is another thing altogether.
