TODAY’S REVIEW: ES FUTURES
Battle Plan 3️⃣ | ES Long Setup
If you are an international member or up at 3AM… like me today… ES offered a beautiful trade setup. The 3-Contract System paid.
Just 3 points of heat and 22 points of follow through.
ES Live Trading Room on Zoom
Well, we took several attempts at possible first ladders that only gave us small bounces. Break evens mostly. A few points at best.
Then we got that ridiculous 15 point candle flush bouncing off the previous day’s Value Area Low. I believe it coincided with Canada retaliating with 50% tariffs.
We marked out the Value Area High and the Value Area Low from Monday’s profile as key levels for the ES chart today.
I was hoping we didn’t even touch the Value Area High… since I was already long.
ES had something different in mind.
So I mapped out a “bounce box” to get long, targeting today’s opening price plus POC. See the video above.
Here’s a screenshot from the Live Trading Room this AM.
Enter. Set Stop. Walk. Wait. ES Target Hit.
Price touched the front edge of the purple box against the Strong Range (See the chart below) and had a nice bounce back down.
That Strong Range has been fantastic, hasn’t it?
It doesn’t get any more fun than that… ES reaching target.
It was hard fought for sure. Most traders would have given up on the trade. Just too difficult of a move. Too much back and forth.
A couple of small red trades earlier and the itch takes over. The market dealt you two bad hands, and now you’re holding a winner… and all you want to do is snatch the small pot and run.
Your finger hovers over the mouse, fidgety as Billy the Kid, convinced he got cheated at the table. That itch has closed more good trades early than any stop loss ever will.
Not me. I set my stop, holstered my Colt Peacemaker and shut down my DOM.
A long long walk can help a lot. My fingers are a long long long ways away from the mouse!
So… Entry taken. Stop set. My job was done… the rest belonged to the market.
Price does what price is going to do whether I stare at the screen or step away. All that staring buys you is the itch to fiddle with your mouse while in a winning trade.
Set the stop. Take the walk.
I received a comment from a Foundations Member today, “The system had a plan for where price could not go, the move was slow but it got there”.
Summer ES Trading
I always forget just how much I loathe summer trading until August.
Fall trading cannot get here soon enough.
Don’t lose heart… easier trading conditions are around the corner.
Tip of the Day
Hold Your Lotto Runner:
Once price travels a comfortable distance, keep one runner alive.
You never know what headline hits next… and the runner is the only contract positioned to cash it.

Points Accumulated This Week:
Battle Plan: 25+
🔥 10-15 Point Battle Plan 3️⃣ ES Long.
Zoom: 25+
🔥 15-Points. Entry to target… for the aggressive.
There were no easy trades today.
At the time of this writing, I’m still holding Lotto Runners. For me, ideally, price doesn’t go any lower than my exact entry point. 7676.
Core Strategy: 18+ (For Full Members)
Once again, August price action was just atrocious.
Easier days are ahead.

COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS
What is the 3-Contract System in ES futures trading?
A: The 3-Contract System is how the Battle Plan manages a trade from entry to exit. You enter with three contracts at a mapped level. The first contract pays quickly and takes the pressure off. The second rides to a bigger target. The third stays alive as a runner for the outsized move. In this session it meant just 3 points of heat and 22 points of follow through.
What is a Lotto Runner and why hold one?
A: A Lotto Runner is the last contract you keep alive after price has traveled a comfortable distance and your other contracts have paid. You move the stop to protect the trade, then let it run. You never know what headline hits next… and the runner is the only contract positioned to cash it.
What are the Value Area High and Value Area Low?
A: The Value Area High and Value Area Low mark the top and bottom of the price zone where most of the previous session’s volume traded. Price tends to react at these edges, which makes them key levels for the next day’s chart. In this Battle Plan, Monday’s Value Area High and Value Area Low were mapped as the reaction points for Tuesday’s ES trading… and the big flush bounced right off the previous day’s Value Area Low.
What is the Strong Range on the Battle Plan chart?
A: The Strong Range is a mapped price zone where buyers and sellers have battled repeatedly, so price tends to react hard when it returns there. Traders use its edges to time entries. In this plan, price touched the front edge of the box against the Strong Range and bounced… the same range that has produced clean trades again and again.
What is the Core Strategy?
A: The Core Strategy is the Micros Trader system reserved for Full Members. It maps specific trade locations in advance and defines the rules for entering, managing, and exiting at those levels. Points from Core Strategy trades are tracked on the weekly Scoreboard… this week it added 18+ points even through rough August conditions.
