SUMMARY for MES MICROS TRADERS
In a session marked by heavy volatility and large 15-point price candles, Micros Trader executed a disciplined bearish strategy, per the Battle Plan, that produced a 10-point gain. However, a pivotal failure by sellers to hold below key technical levels signaled a shift in market sentiment, which the trader identified but chose not to capitalize on via a mapped-out long setup. This missed opportunity underscored the delicate balance between strategic restraint and seizing high-probability moves. The broader takeaway emphasized adaptability, pre-planning, and risk-managed exits as key principles in navigating uncertain trading conditions.
Initial Bearish Strategy and Execution
The session started with a bearish bias informed by “Battle Plan One.” Micros Trader outlined early in the day that the market was in a position to reject off key levels like the VWAP, the session open, and fair value gaps.
The trade plan was simple: if the market failed to hold above those levels, shorts were valid. Micros Trader explained: “This could be your first opportunity; this would be your second.”
Micros Trader executed this plan effectively, taking multiple short trades. One of the shorts, taken based on the pre-planned structure, yielded a 10-point profit potential—fully realized. “I took this short, and I took a speculative short… and took five and took five,” Micros Trader said.
After securing profits from two trades (5 points each), a third trade was taken and managed to break-even. “10 points is 10 points,” Micros Trader emphasized, underscoring the value of modest, consistent gains over chasing.
The Pivotal Shift: Bearish Failure and Market Reversal
The market setup initially pointed toward further bearish continuation. However, when price broke below the session open and VWAP but failed to extend lower, that was the inflection point.
“I was hoping that when we broke this opening and VWAP, that was going to be it… but it’s not what happened,” Micros Trader admitted.
The seller’s inability to capitalize on that breakdown signaled a shift. “The bears had a chance and I think they failed. This was their chance—they got under the opening and under VWAP and failed. And right here, I believe, is where they start getting out.”
A third short taken at that zone moved against the position. Fortunately, Micros Trader exited at break-even. “It came back to break even a little and I took it—and boy, that turned out to be the bounce to the north.” Taking that “gift to break-even” was critical risk management and avoided a loss just before a bullish reversal.
The Missed Bullish Opportunity
Despite identifying the bullish reversal and mapping out a long setup, Micros Trader did not take the trade.
The long was called the “second ladder long” and had clear pre-defined conditions: “If this thing came into here and bounced back up and gave something, I might take the second ladder long… if it pushed down and bounced off here—beautiful. If it gave me this, I’d probably take the second one.”
The market followed this script exactly. “We got that exact long we mapped out… that I said I would probably take.” However, Micros Trader opted not to participate.
“I did not take that trade and that’s turning out to be the miss of the day… I already had three trades—twice profitable, once break even.”
The long trade played out beautifully, but Micros Trader reflected with maturity: “You can’t cry over spilled milk.” The key lesson: even when analysis is spot-on, not every setup is executed—and that’s okay.
Core Trading Philosophy and Principles
This session offers insight into a disciplined trading mindset. The major pillars of Micros Trader’s methodology are:
- Adaptability: “What you have to recognize is when does that change—and when that changes, you have to get with the other side.”
- Patience & Selectivity: “Just because the price is moving doesn’t mean it’s your move on your terms. So what do I do? I’m back to waiting.”
- Capital Preservation: “Great example of just taking the gift of break even.”
- Managing Volatility: “If you get the gift of a move where it goes up 10 points, I recommend you snag it.”
- Pre-Planning: “Remember tonight the Battle Plan is unlocked for everyone, so you can see up to six trade ideas that we are interested in.”
Forward-Looking Statements
The Wrap Up closed with a reminder that the Battle Plan—featuring up to six trade setups—is available for public viewing. Additionally, Micros Trader announced a live session coming up on Tuesday morning, encouraging continued engagement with the broader trading community.
A Recap of Today’s Price Action & Setups:
RTH AM: Battle Plan (1️⃣) played out well. Note: The mapping did not include a monster move down. This was to be treated as a scalp – which I did. Personally, I took this trade three times – two profitable (capturing half the move), one breakeven. Each entry point (the apex, 1st ladder, 2nd ladder) of the mapping proved to be a potential entry point – pretty fun. See the chart.
NY LUNCH: Careful shorting a “parabolic” move to the north! We arrived at the Bull Bear zone – the perfect Take Profit from the long called on Zoom (see video above) – a nice 50-pointer. Congrats to the traders who took it!
Strong Levels: Man of man, did they bounce beautifully once again today.
TRADES OF THE DAY
BATTLE PLAN: Battle Plan (1️⃣) as discussed above.
ZOOM: Long as mapped out in the video above with TP at the Bull Bear Range. 50-Pointer! A great way to start the week if you got long at 6675 Strong Range long called on Zoom.
CORE STRATEGY: 3M BS WTT with 3 Contract System. 20+ Pointer.

The Battle Plan for Tonight & Tomorrow:
Last Night’s Battle Plan: For Battle Plan (2️⃣) I wrote, “If the bulls are real, this might not even happen.” See the chart below.
So I guess the bulls are real??? We shall see.. Reclaiming & laddering beyond the Bull Bear line is the real test!
Closing Update: Closing near the high… on a double distribution day with higher value… after a double distribution day (Friday)… after two days of short squeezing…. while I am flat… not my favorite place to start a trade. Thus, I do not have a Preferred Trade here.
Single Prints: See the chart below.
Hold Dat Runner: Man, not holding the runner from Friday’s long (Battle Plan (4️⃣)) was indeed costly! That entry was up 200 points today! Nothing can improve your PNL like holding a runner.
Reminder: Shortened Holiday Week. A GREAT week to skip if you “need a break”. That said, Monday or Tuesday should be fine trading days.
TRADE IDEAS EXPLAINED
(1️⃣) Shallow pullback long. I like both mappings. If we can clear the Bull Bear line, you are golden. If the bulls are real, this should play out well.
(2️⃣) Tapping today’s Single Prints and RTH HB with a snappy ladder-back sequence. What if price pulls further back? Like the Strong Range (6666-6675)? No problem, wait for 6700 Strong Level to reclaim. Follow Battle Plan (2️⃣).
(3️⃣) Possible Short Idea…. NQ taps 25,000, we take RTH high, and slam back inside of the RTH range. If the bears are going to respond, it is HERE… IMHO! Price COULD reach up to the next Strong Level at 6757 before coming back in. Since I am not long, I will watch for this. If we get under today’s opening price, look to add aggressively. You will have TONS of built in profit to ‘go for it’. You do you. Follow your risk rules and leverage matrix! Not financial advice.
(4️⃣) There is a LARGE gap in trade ideas between trade ideas (2️⃣) and (4️⃣). This is on purpose. This entry is a “Trap The Trader” long at today’s RTH low. Price does NOT have to take the RTH low. If we ladder back above the Strong Range (6666-6675), one could consider a small long using it as support. Now listen, if we make the ALL the way to today’s RTH low, I want sharp, snappy, FVGing, ladder-back action. Otherwise, I will wait. It is a short, low-volume weak – careful.
(5️⃣) Takes the ON low with a snappy ladder-back sequence. One could wait until we reclaim today’s IB Low.
(6️⃣) “Way Down Yonder” long. Friday’s afternoon pullback low. Below here, reference Sunday’s Battle Plan trade ideas further down.
SPECULATOR’S SPECIAL
Short 6757 to 6761 – this zone. Place your stop a comfortable distance above… your choice. Set ATM and walk away. Not financial advice. And remember the name… Speculator’s Special.

Video: How To Trade The Battle Plan
Each evening, I scan the ES chart and ask one primary question:
Where are the bulls and bears positioned?
"Great bears know where the bulls are.
Great bulls know where the bears are."
The arrows you see highlight those pressure points...zones where reactions in price are most likely.
Careful consideration is given to trend, range structure, liquidity pools, and our Strong Levels — a custom TradingView indicator available to paid Battle Plan or full Micros Trader members.
Most arrows lean toward the buy side. That's no coincidence as the ES is a long-biased instrument over time.
How you choose to trade these zones is entirely up to you:
Entry:
- Our Core Strategy: Low-time frame bounce levels.
- Level Reclaim: Market order with proper stop loss under low.
- Your own preferred method: Just use the arrows as a price map and trade on your own confirmation.
- Paper Trade til confident.
- Set Alerts on TradingView as ES/MES trades 23 hours a day. Entries may occur at any time.
Instrument:
- Futures — My primary instrument as our group trades ES/MES futures as scalps and multi-day holds.
- Option spreads
Nothing on this page is a trade recommendation.
