Emini Trade Plan

✏️ Transcript

Opening Remarks

As I promised for the month of December, we were going to release a Trade Plan Builder inside the Trader Meditations platform. This is where you do your journal entries, and I believe your trade plan should live here as well.

You’ll now see a menu item labeled “Trade Plan.” When you hover over it, there are two options: the builder and a visually polished version of your completed trade plan. I’ll show you that in a minute.

Navigating the Trade Plan Builder

On the Trade Plan Builder page, you can click to view your trade plan, or you can access it from the top menu under “My Trade Plan.” It’s also available in one more location we’ll cover shortly.

There’s a progress tracker here that you can open and close. By default, it will be open. This tracker gives you an overview of all the trade plan sections — completed sections are shown in green, and incomplete ones will offer you an option to complete them. If you’ve already filled something out, you’ll have the option to edit it.

Essay Format Questions

  1. Are you treating this trade plan as a living document?
  2. What formatting techniques help make your trade plan easier to reference?

Best Practices and Formatting Tips

If you scroll down, you’ll see advice and best practices. Take your time — this is a living, breathing document. You’ll want to update it regularly if you’re taking your trading seriously.

There’s also guidance on formatting. Although the editor doesn’t have full WYSIWYG capabilities (bold, underline, etc.), you do have several formatting options. You can use all caps, indent text, and add emojis to make your trade plan more visually appealing.

There’s a section offering ideas for combining those formatting techniques and a list of special characters you can copy/paste or use alongside emojis. You can’t use HTML or markdown formatting like asterisks from Discord, so the design suggestions stick to what’s supported.

Be sure to save each section individually using the “Save Section” button.

Saving Sections and Adding Media

When adding screenshots — such as from TradingView — include notes and a date using the text tool. This reinforces context for each image and helps keep your trade plan relevant.

For example, Section One is a declaration of treating trading like a business. You can expand or collapse this section and save it using the designated button. Each section works this way.

Risk Parameters and Account Setup

In Section Three, for instance, which focuses on risk parameters for simulation, you’ll be able to add different accounts.

In this demo, I have two accounts listed: one might be a Tradeovate simulation account. You can define specific risk parameters, rules, and upload screenshots. If you’re doing something like an Apex 100K challenge, you might include screenshots from Apex’s help section showing the rules you need to remember.

You can add multiple accounts by clicking “Add Simulation Account.” This opens three fields: title, description, and image upload. It’s a useful way to organize parameters for each account separately.

Working Hours, Core Setups, and Other Sections

The builder walks you through each section listed in the tracker above.

For example, “Hours of Operation” is a section where you can use emojis and indentation for formatting.

Once you’ve entered your information, you can click “View My Trade Plan.” This takes all the sections you’ve completed and displays them in a professional business-plan format — with each section followed by its content.

In the example shown, we had two accounts: a Tradeovate simulator and a cash account. If you’ve uploaded images, they’ll appear next to the relevant content.

Core Setups and Visual Learning

Section Ten focuses on your core setups — the ones you rely on the most. For each setup, you’ll provide a title, a description, and an optional image. You can keep adding as many setups as you’d like.

There’s also a section about handling high-risk days, which instruments you trade, how your trading station is configured, and your “Why” — a deeper reflection with examples and prompts.

Another cool section is the image gallery, where you can add “Picture Perfect Entries.” Let’s say you do an end-of-day chart review and find a great trade — screenshot it and save it to Section Eleven.

Trades to Avoid and Daily Journaling Integration

There’s also a section for “Trades to Avoid” — another great way to stay disciplined.

When you go to create a new journal entry, you’ll notice your full trade plan is now embedded at the top of the page. This is not retroactively added to older journal entries, only new ones.

This embedded trade plan includes all screenshots and notes. The window is fixed at 1,000 pixels, so you may need to scroll. If that becomes a problem, we may increase the default height in the future.

You can click to edit your trade plan directly from this journal page. And if you’re journaling and need to reference your plan, it’s right there — just open the panel and scroll to the relevant section. If something needs updating, head over to the builder and revise that section.

Closing Remarks

So there it is — the Trade Plan Builder, now fully embedded into the Trader Meditations platform. I hope you enjoy this update.

The Battle Plan for Tonight & Tomorrow:

Talk about a parabolic move to the north last week. Da bulls!

This move is getting long in the tooth. For this week, retracing much of this move would not be a surprise… and traders would welcome it. I can’t chase longs here without days of consolidation or a nice old-school vomit first.

EVERY entry here is RISKY. SMALL, OR… wait til Tuesday to trade.

Hold Dat Runner: Man, not holding the runner from 11.21 Friday’s long (Battle Plan (4️⃣)) was indeed costly! That entry was up 330+ points! All one had to do was NOTHING but hold! Nothing can improve your PNL like holding a runner. I will never stop reminding you of this fact!

Advanced Support Resistance LevelsTRADE IDEAS EXPLAINED

(1️⃣) Possible Short Idea. I would play a short off this Strong Range or the RTH High. Ideally, price tapping the top of the range and getting back under it could be an entry or wait til price gets back under the RTH. Target 6825ish.

(2️⃣) This Strong Range will be challenging. Waiting for price to ladder-back inside Friday’s RTH range might be wise…. but judge the price action on its own merit. If there is no snappy FVG’ing ladder-back action, there is no entry, IMHO.

(3️⃣) I like this short idea a lot. NOTE: I have a bounce happening at the Strong Range BEFORE you can get an entry under the Strong Range. The bigger the first bounce, the harder and deeper the flush, IMHO. This might set up like… Battle Plan (2️⃣) happens and then fails! If short from above, one could look to add here if it maps out!

Video: How To Trade The Battle Plan

Each evening, I scan the ES chart and ask one primary question:

Where are the bulls and bears positioned?

"Great bears know where the bulls are.
Great bulls know where the bears are."

The arrows you see highlight those pressure points...zones where reactions in price are most likely.

Careful consideration is given to trend, range structure, liquidity pools, and our Strong Levels — a custom TradingView indicator available to paid Battle Plan or full Micros Trader members.

Most arrows lean toward the buy side. That's no coincidence as the ES is a long-biased instrument over time.

How you choose to trade these zones is entirely up to you:

Entry:

  • Our Core Strategy: Low-time frame bounce levels.
  • Level Reclaim: Market order with proper stop loss under low.
  • Your own preferred method: Just use the arrows as a price map and trade on your own confirmation.
  • Paper Trade til confident.
  • Set Alerts on TradingView as ES/MES trades 23 hours a day. Entries may occur at any time.

Instrument:

  • Futures — My primary instrument as our group trades ES/MES futures as scalps and multi-day holds.
  • Option spreads

Nothing on this page is a trade recommendation.
I am not a financial advisor.
