If you joined this morning on YouTube or Zoom, you also know we were looking for longs off the two mapped-out trades you see on the screen. Battle Plan Trade #2 is right there — it finally triggered during the New York lunch session.
Now, if you were trading through that slop and chop earlier, I told my traders not to touch it. But I also said that if price got back above the strong level for Battle Plan Trade #2, that would be a valid long — if you wanted to take it.
After I ended Zoom, I walked away — went to the grocery store. There was nothing left for me to do but stay long. The chart was telling me one thing: look for longs. Even though the market was leaning down, we were still above the RTH halfback. I can’t short just above the RTH halfback — I’m not going to do it. Trade location is everything to me when deciding whether to enter a trade.
So I’m back now, working on tonight’s Battle Plan, watching price action out of the corner of my eye. I see Battle Plan Trade #2 bounce, then pop a bit more. I thought, “Let me hit record and see if we can actually capture this 200-pointer.”
Could it keep going? Absolutely. But as I always tell my traders — the first time you grab a 10-pointer, celebrate it. Post it in our 10-Point Club. When you hit 20 points, post in the 20-Point Club. And when you finally catch that first 100-pointer, take it — that’s an accomplishment.
Building the discipline muscle and patience muscle means learning to let price do what it’s going to do — without you interfering. Let price go.
When you get a great trade location like we had Friday on Battle Plan Trade #4 — and it moves solidly in your favor — your job is to stay long. One trade like that a week can make all the difference. We typically get one or two Battle Plan setups per week that can run 100+ points. That doesn’t always happen during the RTH session, though.
If you’re trading prop, you won’t be able to hold multi-day trades like this one. This trade is now on Day 3. Prop trading is perfect for day trading, but your cash account is where you can really work on these multi-day holds — swing trades in the futures market. You can do it small and still do very well.
This trade? One micro. That’s it. And one micro on this move nearly pays my mortgage. Not bad — small risk, great location. That’s why I map the Battle Plan trades every day — to wait patiently for those prime entries.
If you think having the Battle Plan would help you, it’s roughly $2.50 a day. If you’re a full member, make sure to read the daily summary, the Battle Plan itself, and the accompanying notes. Replicate the drawings on your chart — it’ll make a huge difference.
Now here we are, coming into the 200-pointer. You can see in the overnight session I was one tick shy. Just one tick. My goal here is for price to rip through that level so I can move my stop up to the next strong range.
See the arrow for Battle Plan Trade #2? It stops at that blue bar — that’s called a Strong Range in our group. It’s part of the indicator you get as a member. I wanted price to rip straight to that and then move my stop to lock in the 200 points. If it comes back and stops me out — fine. If it keeps going — even better.
I don’t know what price is going to do. I just know I’m not shorting this. We’re looking for longs — because longs are the proper play. We’re above the Bull/Bear Line — you can see it on the screen in yellow. That’s part of the Strong Levels indicator. When we’re above it, I’m focusing on longs 99% of the time.
Now, if you got Monday night’s Battle Plan, you know I did have a short mapped out — but we were nowhere near that setup developing. Price bounces both ways. I’m not saying you should only trade long, but when the bulls are in control, that’s the right side to be on.
Look at the weekly ES chart — this is a long-biased instrument. Shorting that structure can really hurt your P&L and your psychology. Month after month, this thing trends up — people keep buying into their retirement accounts. And what are they buying? The S&P 500.
So here we are at the 200-pointer — and look how close it’s getting. Come on… almost there.
I’m measuring the bounce from Battle Plan Trade #2 — at least 15 points if you took it. I’m jotting that down for tonight’s Battle Plan summary. It’s dancing right at that 200 mark… and there it is.
We popped it — 200 points reached. But remember, I haven’t captured 200 points yet — that’s different.
All right, my screen just went dark because I was taking a screenshot. Here we are at the 200-pointer — what do I do now? Well, it looks like we’re fair-value-gapping a candle over it. I want it to go all the way to the blue bar.
This is a solid move off the RTH halfback area. I’m going to go ahead and lock in my 200-pointer — remove my stop.
Let’s scroll back up… maybe it’ll push through, maybe not. Worst case, I captured 200 points. I’m flat — same as my prop traders — and ready to look for the next entry.
Beautiful move. That’s a fine take profit.
And there it is — 200 points captured, back to flat. We’ll wait for the next Battle Plan trade.
Hope you had a great day.
A Recap of Today’s Price Action & Setups:
As discussed extensively on Zoom and YouTube Live, “Do not trade this, there are easier days to trades“. At a minimum, I suggested you wait ’til later’ to trade ES Emini/MES Micro.
FIVE REASONS TODAY WAS A “NO-TRADE DAY”:
1. 200+ point move in last three RTH sessions and closing at the highs. Yesterday I wrote, “We are up 200+ points from Friday’s low. NOTHING of high quality exists up this high on the chart. Be careful.”
2. Bank Holiday: Almost always a smart day to stay flat.
3. Small Opening Range… as we define it. 15 points of less the first 30 minutes of trading. Better trading conditions might exist later in the day.
4. Eight-point candles and going nowhere! Back and forth through the opening showing indecision.
5. The Four Pack (ES, NQ, Y, RTY) was “all over the place” which often indicates a day of complex ‘go-no-where’ chop. We were NOT “on the same train“. Best to wait!
Flat is a position. PAYtience is a position.
YOUR “NO TRADE” PLAN:
Not every day is a trading day. You already know this — but do you actually walk away?
In our group, you’re given clear guidance on how to create a Personal Trade Plan.
I strongly encourage you to do it.
When do you say, “No, thank you”? When will you wait?
What are your conditions? What’s your personal recipe for standing down?
Some great examples are shared above — use them to build your own framework for discipline.
BATTLE PLAN (2️⃣):
During the “NY Lunch”, we finally got Battle Plan (2️⃣) entry for 20+ points… right to target! A perfect “Take Profit”. Paytience pays.
MY MES SWING TRADE:
As you can see from the video above, I captured a 200-point move. This entry was mapped out in Thursday night’s Battle Plan, traded on Friday, and held through the weekend. A great accomplishment… very pleased. Emotions are high, so it’s time for a well-deserved break!
Learning to hold those runners can truly make your week — and it’s a fundamental part of our core strategy.
100+ Point Runners:
Learning to hold runners beyond 20 points really helps develop your PAYtience muscles!
MEMBERS: When you are in a trade and you want to hold a runner, ASK on the “Trading Floor” for help. Even if we aren’t on Zoom, you are NOT trading alone! We will help!
As one member, Scott, remarked today, “Staying in a profitable trade is one of the hardest things to do — and it seems so backwards.”

TRADE OF THE DAY
Battle Plan:
Battle Plan (2️⃣) finally delivered. 20+ Points.
Zoom:
We were looking for the same exact Battle Plan (2️⃣) trade plus a long off the RTH HB area.
Core Strategy:
Battle Plan (2️⃣) aligned perfectly with a “muddy” Core Strategy Entry – It’s nice when both align… especially when it’s “with the trend”. Almost everything works when trading futures “with the trend”.

Video: How To Trade The Battle Plan
Each evening, I scan the ES chart and ask one primary question:
Where are the bulls and bears positioned?
"Great bears know where the bulls are.
Great bulls know where the bears are."
The arrows you see highlight those pressure points...zones where reactions in price are most likely.
Careful consideration is given to trend, range structure, liquidity pools, and our Strong Levels — a custom TradingView indicator available to paid Battle Plan or full Micros Trader members.
Most arrows lean toward the buy side. That's no coincidence as the ES is a long-biased instrument over time.
How you choose to trade these zones is entirely up to you:
Entry:
- Our Core Strategy: Low-time frame bounce levels.
- Level Reclaim: Market order with proper stop loss under low.
- Your own preferred method: Just use the arrows as a price map and trade on your own confirmation.
- Paper Trade til confident.
- Set Alerts on TradingView as ES/MES trades 23 hours a day. Entries may occur at any time.
Instrument:
- Futures — My primary instrument as our group trades ES/MES futures as scalps and multi-day holds.
- Option spreads
Nothing on this page is a trade recommendation.
