Rules Hidden Inside

Most trading videos give you theory.

This isn't that.

What you're about to watch is two full days of live ES futures trading condensed into 26 minutes of pure, unfiltered reality. No dead space. No filler. Just the trades that mattered and the moments that reveal exactly how a disciplined trader thinks, reacts, and executes under pressure.

Here's the thing nobody tells you.

The most important lessons a trader ever learns don't come from a textbook. They don't come from a course. They don't come from a webinar where somebody draws pretty lines on a chart and calls it education.

They come from watching a real trader work in real time. And paying close attention to what they say when nobody is trying to teach them anything.

That's what happened here.

I wasn't sitting down to give you 18 rules. I was trading. Live. On NFP Friday β€” one of the most volatile and unpredictable trading days of the month. And somewhere in between calling out entries, managing stops, peeling contracts, and keeping my members calm β€” 18 rules just came out.

Hidden in plain sight.

Here are a few of them.

01

One Trade a Day

Give yourself one entry. Just one. That constraint forces you to wait for the juicy fat pitch with a stop-loss that makes sense. When you can consistently nail one trade a day, allow yourself two. Earn it.

03

Keep a Single Runner Back. Always.

Every time you take profits, leave one contract behind. You never know when the trade that looked like a scalp turns into the trade of the week. You don't need to be right about it. You just need to be in it.

07

Flat Is a Valid Position

New traders feel like they need to be in a trade every minute the market is open. That feeling will cost you more money than any bad entry ever will. Sometimes the best trade you can take is no trade at all. Especially on NFP Friday.

09

Journal Every Trade. Win, Lose, or Draw.

Not just the winners. Not just the losses that hurt. Every single trade. The trader who can sit down after a loss and say "that was a legitimate trade for these reasons" is the trader who survives long enough to get good.

13

Trade Small. You Don't Need Big. You Need Small.

The traders who blow up aren't the ones who don't know the system. They're the ones who sized up before they were ready. Small keeps you in the game. Small keeps you learning. Small keeps you alive.

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS

What is the Battle Plan and how far in advance is it mapped out?

A: The Battle Plan is a pre-session trade map that identifies key long and short zones before the market opens. George maps it out the prior evening β€” in this case, the Friday trades were mapped roughly 15–20 hours in advance, with the target long entry sitting 114–125 points away from price at the time. The battle plan is published to members and even made publicly available on occasion (as it was Thursday night for Friday’s session). The goal is not to predict every tick β€” it’s to identify the two or three locations where engaging in price makes the most sense given structure.

What is a “ladder back” sequence and why does it matter?

A: A ladder back refers to a sequence of progressively higher lows (in a long setup) that form as price attempts to recover from a key level. The first ladder is the riskiest entry β€” price has just touched the zone and there’s no confirmation of follow-through yet. The second ladder offers more evidence that the level is holding. George typically enters small on the first ladder and adds on confirmation, combining entries to maintain a stop at break even. Ladder backs are the core entry mechanism once price drops into a mapped battle plan zone.

What does it mean that “longs are counter” and how should that change your position sizing?

A: “Longs are counter” means you’re trading against the dominant trend direction. In a bear-controlled market, any long trade β€” even one taken from a high-quality mapped level β€” is a counter-trend trade. Counter-trend trades carry higher failure rates because they’re fighting the path of least resistance. The response to that isn’t to avoid the trade β€” it’s to reduce size significantly. “Small if at all” is the rule. Never add to a losing counter-trend position, and never size it as if it’s a trend-following entry. If it works, great. If it doesn’t, the damage is minimal.

What is a “lotto runner” and when should you keep one?

A: A lotto runner is a single contract (or micro) held after the primary position has been exited for profit. The purpose is to capture a larger unexpected move without risking the original gain. After taking profits on the main position, the runner’s stop is moved to break even or to lock in a small amount of profit β€” typically around 5–10 points. If the move extends dramatically (50, 80, 100 points), the runner captures that upside. If price reverses and hits the stop, the runner exits with minimal impact. The term “lotto” reflects the low-probability, high-reward nature of the hold.

What is the “One Trade a Day” rule and how does it help developing traders?

A: The One Trade a Day rule is a self-imposed constraint where a developing trader allows themselves only a single entry per session. This forces selectivity β€” instead of taking marginal setups out of boredom or FOMO, the trader must wait for a genuinely high-quality setup they can fully justify and journal. The rule builds patience, improves trade location discipline, and creates a clean feedback loop: one trade, one journal entry, one honest evaluation. Once the trader can execute consistently with one trade per day, they earn the right to take two. The constraint is the training tool.

What is the difference between a “strong range” and a “battle plan zone”?

A: A strong range is a structural price area defined by significant prior activity β€” the kind of level that tends to attract price and produce reactions. These are drawn on the chart based on technical analysis and are visible to anyone who knows how to identify them. A battle plan zone is a pre-mapped entry area that George identifies the night before a session, combining strong range levels with his directional read on where price is likely to travel. The battle plan zones are labeled directly on the chart. When price drops into a battle plan zone that also aligns with a strong range, that overlap is where the highest-confidence entries form.

Why does the MicrosTrader system trade mostly long even in a bear market?

A: The system is designed to be approximately 90% long by orientation because the ES tends to produce its cleanest, most mechanical reversal sequences from long-side setups off key support. Shorts are mapped and traded when the structure clearly supports it β€” as demonstrated by Wednesday’s 85-point short β€” but shorting indiscriminately in every pullback leads to extended losing streaks. The market’s natural tendency in the ES is to compress, go overly short, squeeze, and attract FOMO buying. The battle plan system is built to identify where that sequence is most likely to begin, and to take the long side of that move with a defined stop and a realistic target.

What should a new member focus on in their first weeks?

A: New members are directed to slow down, trade extremely small (or sim), and focus on earning badge levels in sequence. The badge system exists to introduce concepts progressively β€” attempting to learn third-level concepts before completing first-level work doesn’t accelerate progress, it creates confusion. The fastest path through the learning curve is the disciplined one: draw your levels, watch how price interacts with battle plan zones, take notes, and journal every trade. Attempting to shortcut the badge sequence has consistently resulted in traders having to start over from the beginning.

Video: How To Trade The Battle Plan

Each evening, I scan the ES chart and ask one primary question:

Where are the bulls and bears positioned?

"Great bears know where the bulls are.
Great bulls know where the bears are."

The arrows you see highlight those pressure points...zones where reactions in price are most likely.

Careful consideration is given to trend, range structure, liquidity pools, and our Strong Levels β€” a custom TradingView indicator available to paid Battle Plan or full Micros Trader members.

Most arrows lean toward the buy side. That's no coincidence as the ES is a long-biased instrument over time.

How you choose to trade these zones is entirely up to you:

Entry:

  • Our Core Strategy: Low-time frame bounce levels.
  • Level Reclaim: Market order with proper stop loss under low.
  • Your own preferred method: Just use the arrows as a price map and trade on your own confirmation.
  • Paper Trade til confident.
  • Set Alerts on TradingView as ES/MES trades 23 hours a day. Entries may occur at any time.

Instrument:

  • Futures β€” My primary instrument as our group trades ES/MES futures as scalps and multi-day holds.
  • Option spreads

Nothing on this page is a trade recommendation.
